As a cheesecake lover, I love going to Gaslight in Dunedin.
This Manhattan baked cheesecake topped off a great night, and ended the meal perfectly. It was a smooth, lump-free cheesecake, and really moreish. The buttery and slightly crunchy base are made with squiggles, as far as the flavouring goes, they used Baileys and a butterscotch liqueur in with the cream cheese. The manager told us that the trick is to balance the sweetness, and that’s why they added the salted caramel drizzle. It was such a lovely cheesecake, I would definitely give it a 10 out of 10!
We made another visit to Gaslight just for some desserts. We ordered a Tiramisu, and of course a cheesecake. We had a strawberry cheesecake with berry coulis, simple but delicious. I was incredibly happy with the consistently good food and service, Gaslight is definitely my go-to place for dessert (esp. cheesecake) without a doubt.
My boyfriend ordered the tiramisu, it was the classic flavours we both enjoy. The portion size was very decent, however it was a little dry for my taste.
Overall, beautiful atmosphere, and consistently good food and service. We will be back again.
